I had read the review of this being too watery, so I wanted to be very careful about how much water I put in. Honestly, I think it just depends on how you like your soup. I cut the water down by 1/3 and my soup turned out quite thick, which I love! A good hearty soup. I also replaced some of the water with chicken stock. I added 2 lbs of chicken breast and in all this turned into a yummy soup that's great with crusty bread on a cold, winter day! I look forward to trying their other products!
I made the soup according to the instructions.
I think 12 cups is too much water, because it was very watery, not like I expected it to be, so I had to add a bouillon cube to it to make the soup thicker.
