About Montana Gift Corral

 

 

The story of Montana Gift Corral is rooted in the act of giving a gift. It's a simple gesture with an often deep impact. When Sharon and Bert Hopeman traveled to Bozeman, Montana, they wanted to take home a part of their experience for their family. Sadly, they just couldn't find the perfect Montana gifts.

That's when an idea was born. What if they could provide those gifts for people? What if they could help travelers share with others through gift giving? And so, the idea came to life. In 1993, the Hopemans opened Montana Gift Corral in beautiful downtown Bozeman.

For over 30 years, we've worked to build a space for all who love Montana, a place where travelers can find Montana made and inspired gifts to share and where locals can find consistent and high-quality goods for all occasions. We welcome the opportunity to serve you and look forward to celebrating the act of gift giving for many years to come!

Made. In Montana.

While our story doesn't begin until 1993, our flagship location at 237 E. Main St. has much older roots. As the 2nd oldest building in Bozeman, it was constructed in 1873 by Frank Harper as the first blacksmith in town. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Main Street Historic District and the brick front is original save for a few minor repairs through the years. A symbol of hope for prosperity in the Western outpost, we carry on the legacy as a Downtown Bozeman icon.

A Love of Community.

Our love of Bozeman and Montana is exemplified through our relationships. Our greatest honor is to serve our customers every single day. We value being members of local Chambers of Commerce, the Downtown Bozeman Association, and sponsors of the annual Downtown Bozeman Christmas Stroll, and we deeply love working with the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport as well as Montana State Parks and Yellowstone Forever. We are also proud to have given over $60,000 to local nonprofits and charities over the last 5 years.

Celebration of the Gift.

Service is our specialty. But, we can't offer exemplary service without the best Montana gifts and other goods provided by local and regional vendors. For our 30th anniversary, we designated our Montana Legacy Vendors who have been with us virtually since the beginning, which you will see on our website represented with a badge of honor. With their high-quality work in hand, we complete what we call "the exquiste finish", offering services like free gift wrap, custom gift messages, free local delivery, and a desire to help with whatever customer need must be met.

Because we believe so deeply in what we do in Montana, we constantly look for ways to improve. From compostable bags and to-go containers in our stores, to self-evaluation of how we can serve and train our dedicated teams, we always want to do and be better. We also look for opportunities to expand our impact into other regions across the state, because we want to be able to connect with people and communities throughout Big Sky Country in the most meaningful ways. Our bright future is only made possible by the people who graciously support us.
