Thousands of people would follow Bozeman and Jacobs with hopes of finding gold and better prospects. Voorhees, a man from Michigan who journeyed with a company of men to Idaho. Samuel Finley Blythe journeyed with four other men.      Bound for Montana: Diaries from the Bozeman Trail contains the narratives of seven diaries. The tales originally came from a series of thirty-three Bozeman trail diaries that were published in two volumes called Journeys to the Land of Gold: Emigrant Diaries from the Bozeman Trail, 1863 - 1866Bound for Montana: Diaries from the Bozeman Trail and Journeys to the Land of Gold: Emigrant Diaries from the Bozeman Trail, 1863 - 1866 are both edited by Susan Badger Doyle. Susan Badger Doyle has a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of New Mexico. Bound for Montana: Diaries from the Bozeman Trail and Susan Badger Doyle are associated with the Montana Historical Society.
