Montana is known for its wide open spaces and grandiose mountain views, but it's also the home to some of the most vibrant Irish culture in the country. From Butte to Bozeman, Missoula, Billings, and even Great Falls, you'll find St. Patty's Day pub crawls, parades, and Celtic fairs! Here are some events that are at the top of our St. Patrick's Day to-do list this year:

1. Butte, MT

Butte, Montana might be a small town but it is proud of its Irish heritage! The 2010 Census identified Butte as the highest population of Irish decedents in the United States. Show your support by celebrating the culture of this great town! Butte maintains their strong Irish heritage in the integration of traditional St. Patrick's Day festivities'. Join thousands of others at the Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Butte and enjoy delicious food, traditional bagpipers, and celebrations of the day. There's something for everyone - don't miss out on the fun!!  

Celebrate the kick off of events in historic Uptown Butte with a parade starting at 12pm on Friday 3/17/2023! Shop, explore, and enjoy delicious food from various eateries and food trucks. How fun!

2. Run to the Pub, Bozeman, MT

Take part in the epic Run to the Pub, held annually at Bozeman, MT's Pub 317. This race is so highly esteemed, it's been chosen as the second best half marathon in the country by Runner's World! The Annual Run to the Pub event has historically garnered the attention of thousands of runners. Who else is running this year?    

Get ready to hit the streets of downtown Bozeman! Run to the Pub will be officially chipped timed by Competitive Timing in 2023, with a loop course starting and finishing on Main Street. Half Marathon will start at 9:30am and the 10K at 9:45am, so lace up your sneakers and let's go for a run!

Hey, did we mention that when you participate in the Run to the Pub Half Marathon or 10K you get the chance to win a dream trip to Dublin, Ireland? That's right - cross the finish line and you'll be qualified to win an unbelievable trip and entry into the Dublin Marathon. You don't want to miss this incredible opportunity. 40th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Celtic Fair Billings MT

4. Missoula, MT

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style and revel in the festivities that Missoula has to offer! Get ready for a day of fun and adventure - it's sure to be an unforgettable experience!

If you're not the type to partake in a race on a holiday, don't worry, there is plenty of St Patrick's day fun in Missoula for you! 5. St. Paddy's Day Celebration at The Celtic Cowboy in Great Falls, MT

Head to The Celtic Cowboy in Great Falls for an unforgettable St. Paddy's Day celebration that lasts all week long! With an incredible lineup of musicians, this is the place to be to make your holiday a memorable one.

Here is the schedule of events at this iconic Great Falls bar:
  • Wednesday, March 15 - Almeda Bradshaw @ 6 pm
    • Almeda is a talented string musician and singer who has been playing Cowboy Gatherings for nearly two decades. Head to the Celtic Cowboy to hear her unique mix of Cowboy, Bluegrass, Old-time, Folk, and Spirituals.
  • Thursday, March 16 - The Montana Shamrockers @ 6 pm
    • Start the night off right with an acoustic, vocally-driven performance by the Montana ShamRockers! Traditional, original, and American Celtic folk tunes on four critically acclaimed albums, created a raucous energy that's been thrilling audiences since 2003.
  • Friday, March 17 - Merle Travis Peterson @ 3 - 6 pm
    • Over the years, Merle Travis Peterson has toured the US, appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman and performing in over 200 shows every year. Get ready for some classic pop songs, folk tunes, Elvis classics, and of course Johnny Cash!
  • Saturday, March 18 - Wylie & the Wild West @ 6 pm
    • For over 33 years, Wylie Gustafson has been performing his unique blend of cowboy, western and traditional country music across the world. Catch a couple of songs from the musical legend at the Celtic Cowboy, and experience a true American original!
