Carl has graced the Greater Yellowstone Area with his outstanding western pottery and artwork for over 30 Years! After gaining his Art Degree from Montana State University Bozeman in 1977, he gained some money and became the first In-residence potter of any National Park. He has seen Yellowstone National Park grow into what it is today! From humble beginnings out of a cabin behind Old-Faithful lodge next to the Fire Hole River, Carl has awed visitors passing through the Old Faithful Lodge since 1980! As the creator and artist of Fire Hole Pottery (www.fireholepottery.com), his art is located throughout the Gallatin Valley and beyond! His western take on pottery makes his work a must have for any collection! Carl’s work is still local today, crafted in Belgrade, Montana with the same skill and craftsmanship he’s had since the 80’s, with a few added tricks up his sleeve.
